Word jumble

Lately I’ve been walking around with a lot of words in my head that I haven’t yet put here.

Yet.

Jumbled fragments, run-on sentences, thoughts, complaints, ideas, love-letters.

They sound so good crashing around into each other while I’m driving or in the loo, but when I find the time and the decent mi-fi signal to get online, they run and hide like roaches when the lights are turned on.

I don’t think it’s writers block, I think it’s keyboard confusion.

The words, they tumble out of my brain like pick-up-sticks and when I try to get them to match they turn into those little magnetic monkeys that stick together every which way and instead of building a beautiful showplace for themselves they are a screeching cacophony of madness.

Things to tell you, plans to share, brain farts, random ramblings, and the rolling waves of Political Kimcorrectness that cross my mind and trickle to my tongue and fingers, then back to my mind like the receding tide.

Nothing earth-shattering, out of the ordinary or TMZ worthy.

Just … stuff. The thoughts of a 42 year old perpetual child.

Mental gumdrops.

I guess they’ll get themselves together and organized when they’re damn good and ready, won’t they?

In the meantime … Life.

In Memory

This week is Peace Officer’s Memorial Week. Today is the “official” day of remembrance, but in reality, it should be everyday. Even though I’m not on the job anymore, I wouldn’t trade those years in law enforcement and the friendships I made with my brothers and sisters in blue (and brown and white and every uniform color) for anything. I had the honor of working with some fine people, and unfortunately, some of them were killed in the line of duty. I was lucky, I made it through almost 20 years of various law enforcement roles with just a few battle scars that I’m still here to tell about.

Len, Gary, and David, I hope you are resting in peace.

Whether you like ‘em or not, hug or thank a cop this week, and be thankful for these men and women who put their lives on the line every minute of every day to keep us safe.
