Get Dressed – WINNERS

CONGRATULATIONS to the 5 winners of their very own selection of Marie’s Salad Dressing, Breenah, Mo-D, Deb, Kimberly and Holly ! I’ll be e-mailing those of you that left your email address, and Mo-D, please use the “contact me” button on the right to email me and let me know your full name and shipping address, thanks !!

I arrived home recently to three cases (yes, CASES) of Marie’s Salad Dressing upon my doorstep. Now I may not look like it, but I love a good salad. And when I have a salad, much like Elaine, I like a BIG SALAD. Boiled eggs, cucumbers, mandarin oranges, pecans, you name it, I like it in my salad.

My case of Marie’s salad dressing included two of my favorites, creamy yogurt blue cheese and ranch, along with Marie’s newest blend, Lemon Herb Vinaigrette. It was a case of love at first bite. Heh. See what I did there?  I used the new flavor as a glaze for some snapper I baked over the weekend, and it was fantastic ! I simply added some dried Italian seasoning to it, brushed it on and grilled it in a foil packet. I can hardly wait to try it with asparagus, brussels sprouts and so many other things ! The creamy yogurt ranch and blue cheese are awesome as dippers, and I am so happy to have them around to accompany my stockpile of fresh veggies that I pretend are chocolate during late-night snack attacks. I also made a great artichoke dip the other day with the blue cheese dip, here’s my recipe if you’d like to try it ;

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Marie’s Super Blue Cheese Dressing
  • 15oz. artichoke hearts, in water, drained and chopped (I like to use seasoned ones)
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese (fresh parmesan works best)
  • 8oz. Sour Cream
  • 2 scallions, chopped
  • pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients together, chill for an hour, serve with toast point, chips or cracked pepper crackers. You can also sprinkle shredded parmesan on top, and heat this dressing in the oven for about 30 minutes and it’s DIVINE.

Naturally I must tell you all about Marie’s before I get to the BEST PART OF MY POST, so here we go …

  • Marie’s Creamy Yogurt Dressing has half the fat and calories of regular salad dressing, yet has the same delicious homemade taste you’ve come to expect from Marie’s.
  • Marie’s Creamy Yogurt Dressing comes in 7 delicious varieties:  Blue Cheese, Feta Cheese, Ranch, Parmesan Caesar, Honey Mustard, Thousand Island, and Coleslaw.
  • Marie’s Creamy Yogurt Dressing is packed cold to lock in homemade flavor and freshness and can only be found in the refrigerated fresh produce section.
  • Marie’s uses no artificial colors or flavors, preservatives, or added MSG.  All Marie’s Refrigerated Dressing (with the exception of Sesame Ginger) are Gluten Free.
  • Marie’s refrigerated salad dressing is comparable in cost to the premium salad dressings you find in the grocery aisle.

Marie’s NEW Lemon Herb Vinaigrette:

  • Our vinaigrette has a fresh and flavorful burst of lemon blended with herbs and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
  • This is a great tasting marinade for chicken and fish.

I have two favorite salads. One is really simple.

    Spinach
    Strawberries
    Feta cheese
    Balsamic Vinaigrette

My other favorite would consist of…

    Lettuce
    Spinach
    Cucumbers (lots of them!)
    Baby Carrots
    Red & Green Peppers
    Croutons
    Bacon Bits
    Chopped up hard boiled eggs
    Sunflower Seeds
    Red Onion
    Shredded Cheese

All of this in a REALLY BIG BOWL, topped with my favorite dressing, or perhaps one of Marie’s dressings. :-)

    Thank you for the opportunity.

  6. Penny Black says:

I like a variety of lettuces. Cheese, bacon, ham, peas, tomatoes, celery, cucumber, boiled eggs, croutons, sunflower seed nuts, cut up dill pickles, garbanzo beans, more cheese, and more bacon. I KNOW I’ve forgotten something. PS. it you like your cherry tomatoes cut in half and your in a hurry or lazy. Put them in a large lid…as many as you can fit….put something flat on top to hold them in place and then with a sharp knife cut across the center of them….waala! :)

  7. Lisa says:

elaine was most definitely right about salad. big salad. lettuce (bib, butter or spring blend), spinach, carrots, diced ham, croutons, cucumber, tomato and chunky blue cheese.

  8. WANT!!!!

I LOVE blue cheese, avocados, chicken, bacon, hb egg—so, yeah Cobb salads are the bomb-diggety in my book. Bring on the toppings!

  9. Dana says:

Ooooh, I practically LIVE on salads. I put all kinds of stuff in a salad: boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, sunflower nuts, jicama, diced chicken, pepperoni slices, cheese (oh lawd, don’t get me started on my love of cheeeese) and I love just about all types of dressing (except chinese salad, not a fan of ginger dressing). I wanna win!!!!! :)

  10. Lea Michelle says:

As I have been on a diet Salads are my everything. I put Turkey, eggs, Cheese and croutons. YUMM!!

  13. Beth says:

I like a chef salad best with turkey ham eggs cheese croutons and ranch!

  14. Breenah says:

As long as there are no onions I’ll take just about anything in my salad. I prefer savory over sweet though, so boiled eggs and cheese and lots of broccoli, with ranch of course.

  15. Stacey Johnson says:

Perfect salad is a bed of mixed baby greens and spinach, topped with boiled egg, sundried tomatoes, carrots, croutons and BACON.

  19. Stephanie says:

I like a little salad with my bacon, cheese, croutons and chicken breast!

  20. Susan says:

In my salad I like: romaine lettuce mixed, spinach, carrots, radish, sunflower seeds, cheese (lots), salad peppers, tomatoes, onions, and Ranch dressing!!!!

  21. Marie says:

I am a big salad kind of girl also. I use all the veggies I can find that are fresh – cucumber, tomatoes, green pepper, radishes, celery, green onions – anything of that sort, plus hard-boiled eggs, mushrooms, black olives and a little cheese. I also like a variety of salad greens so I generally stock up on the fresh deli lettuces and spinach when I go to the store. I do not like the pre-packaged ones. If I find some decently cooked chicken I pile that on also. It’s just me so I generally don’t buy a big chicken to cook and it’s kinda dumb to cook a breast just for the salad. Rotissiere chicken works well and then I can have it on sandwiches or soup later.

More storms a-coming here in MN – we cannot catch a break on winter. My snow is piled high and will have to be moved out with a skid loader if we get much more.

    So hugs from snowy Minnesota,
    Marie

  22. Mo-D says:

I like my lettuce mix to be mostly iceberg (I like the crunch) with some romaine and a few spinach leaves. I like almost any variety of cheese, some crunchy bacon pieces (I microwave the strips between paper towels so they are not greasy), some type of meat (chicken, turkey, ham, etc., or a combination), sunflower kernels, a variety of peppers (banana, jalapeno, bell) some warm crispy croutons (I wish I had Ruby Tuesday croutons at my disposal constantly; or maybe I don’t lol), and usually ranch dressing.

    Hmmm, I think I need a salad now ;)

    • Mo-D says:

I forgot to mention; Just as important as the contents is the bowl!! I like a BIG bowl. I have when you get a salad and it barely fits in the bowl. I like to stir my dressing in, so everything is evenly coated. Must be the OCD ha ha ha

    • Kim says:

Hey lady, YOU WON !! Contact me with your info, please! kimt205@gmail.com

  23. I love a big salad like nobody’s business. I make one for myself in a big mixing bowl. Hubby calls it my Jethro Bodine salad. I hate making them but love eating them. I guess I could call mine a Garbage Salad (except ew, what an unappealing name) since I put just about everything in there, depending what I have on hand.

A salad needs at bare minimum ONION & TOMATO. You can skip the tomato if you have other things but never skip the onion. My fave thing to add that I learned to put in them down south is RAISINS! They’re fantastic and when available I never leave them out.

Also love: cukes, radishes, olives (either black or green), pickled eggs, peppers of all colors, cheese, mushrooms, beans, etc. The list goes on! :-)

  24. Charmed says:

I, too, like a BIG SALAD but don’t care for fruit in it. Pretty much anything else goes!

  25. shona says:

I love egg, cheese, croutons, fried onions, chicken !! Just had a salad for lunch

  26. Diane says:

I love a big salad that starts with lettuce, red onion, and tomatoes. I may add egg, green/red peppers, croutons, cheese, and/or chicken depending on whats in the frig.
    Yummm.

  27. angi says:

I am uber picky about the lettuce I use. I can default to a good spring blend, but my favorite is an herb blend that has cilantro and other herbs right in the salad. It’s so good.

  28. colleen says:

lettus, chicken, corn, beans, cukes, nuts, dried fruit, chick peas…yum!

  29. Stephanie @ Plain Chicken says:

Best salad – chicken, bacon, tomato Caesar salad

  30. I love feta cheese, tomatoes, olives, almonds in my mixed spring greens!

  31. Deb says:

I love croutons, campari tomatoes, and almonds toasted in ranch dressing.
