I love technology and am a total gadget nerd. I’m in my second round of being a Verizon Wireless Ambassador, a cool gig that I really enjoy. As a tech geek, it’s cool to be able to test out other devices and use things that I normally wouldn’t step out of my digital comfort zone for.
For the last few weeks I’ve been using the HTC Windows phone as pictured below.

To say it’s a lot different from my iPhone would be an understatement. I love the feel of it, slightly curved but still thin, and the phone itself just seems sturdier to me. The live tiles are fantastic, I love how customizable they are and the features you can have. It has taken quite a bit of getting used to though, and once again, I wish their was some sort of “assistance card” or quick tip guide to go along with it. That being said, I did find that once I started fiddling with it I was eventually able to figure things out.
I do find the application availability a bit lacking though. The store is a bit scattered and two of the apps I use most, Spotify and Instagram are not available. I use the premium Spotify account for all of my music now on my Mac and iPhone, so this is highly inconvenient. I do like the photo enhancer feature though, and the camera is great, once I figured out how to actually take pictures.
So far the battery life is not that great, but from what I understand there is some sort of app fix for it, I just have to find it ! Now that the holidays are coming to an end, I’ll have more time to re-watch the webinars and research some new ways to enjoy my new HTC Windows phone !

Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Ambassador program and have been provided with a wireless device and three months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.

Our development manager at my day job has this exact phone (but on T-Mobile) and he loves it. Very slick interface, although his biggest complaint in the lack of many apps that Android or iOS has.
