Live On Purpose

I have always loved the word empowered. To me it brings forth the idea of taking charge, grabbing life by the balls, kicking ass and taking names. Whatever your personal definition of it, just the word itself is strong and oh so bold.

Recently I was fortunate enough to discover Empowered Clothing Company. It’s a relatively new company based out of Arizona, and they have some amazing clothing and their slogan? LIVE ON PURPOSE. Love it. It makes me want to do just that.

From their website :

Empowered Clothing is an action sports clothing line founded in January 2010. We are based out of Phoenix, Arizona. Our focus is on broadcasting and living a positive message. When you’re wearing our clothing you’re supporting that purpose. LIVE ON PURPOSE. We believe that everyone should be inspired to find their purpose in life, and to feel empowered to LIVE that purpose. To have a plan. To work on purpose. To play on purpose. A positive life needs purpose.

Empowered Clothing Company started as a huge dream with a small workable space…two friends bumped elbows and decided this dream needed more room to grow. Empowered Clothing Company has now expanded to multiple members with one common goal: greater self esteem and individual growth. The more we communicate as a team, the more we learn and the more we grow.

Empowered stands here to help encourage you as an individual, to live on purpose and carry your head high. We stand to help you build your self-esteem and fight for what you believe in. We can be the change we want to see – by living and wearing positive energy, we can help change the world!

We will not limit ourselves to just one industry of sport. We will not limit ourselves to male or female. We will not limit ourselves to any age group. We do not believe you should limit yourself, or your expectations either.

The question remains: Can a simple t-shirt empower you? We dare you to try it…

I have let my Empowered tank run low the last two years, wallowing in grief and self-pity and the “poor widow me” attitude I said I wouldn’t give into. In the last month though, I have begun to refiill my tank. I’m working on my attitude, my mental and physical health, and I’m trying to keep it positive. I still have bad moments, but that’s human nature, and we all have to make it through those and come out on the other side smiling and ready to go. When I look at the phrases on the Empowered shirts I immediately get pumped up, and I want to go out and do something! I want to do things for myself, for others, I want to pay it forward and make the space I occupy on this earth a little better.

I want you to be able to do that too, and so do the folks over at Empowered Clothing Co. See the pic below? BOX FULL O’AWESOME. There are all kinds of rad shirts in there that are just waiting to get out there and inspire someone. That someone could be you, dear reader !

Leave me a comment on how you plan to empower yourself or others, and I’ll draw some winners this weekend. Put your shirt size in your comment as well. While you’re at it, go ahead and follow @EmpoweredCC on Twitter and check out their Facebook page as well. Then, go check out their website and tell them what your own positive phrase is, and they might use it on their clothing and give you some swag !

Now if you’ll excuse me, my hot pink Empowered t-shirt and I have some good to go out and do.

I LOVE this! I’m working on making my life into exactly what I want it to be, which is what I think empowerment is all about. I need to check out these shirts!

I love “Live on Purpose”… I feel I have often lived by the seat of my pants, and the thought of On Purpose.. that’s strong. “Adapt and Overcome”… that’s me!! I’m adapting to new changes all the time, some under my control but most are not… and I choose to do more than survive. I will overcome!!!

    And yes, Yay You!!! *muah*

    (xl, xxl, whatever..)

It’s funny you wrote about that. Just the other day on FB I wrote about the Phoenix tattoo on my foot. It’s being reborn in all my favorite colors, and I realized that over the last year I’ve been turning into someone who is uniquely me rather than a combination of me and the person people expect me to be. (Should you choose me – large) I’m happy for you.

I love the “Live on Purpose” idea. Just have not ever done that. I live “for whatever comes along”. When I was 14 and told my dad I couldn’t wait until I was 16 he told me to not wish my life away. God, I only wish I knew then what he was trying to teach me. But unfortunately I still haven’t learned the lesson now almost 40 years later.

I try. I really do try. To me, live on purpose means TRAVEL. NOW, while I’m not too old to know enjoy it.

Time’s fading away fast. My father was so wise, why did I not give him more credit? He was a man of few words or actions and I miss him still 19 years after we lost him. I’d give anything to have a real conversation with him now that I don’t know as much as I did at 14.

  • LOVE THIS! I am trying to “be out there” more these days. I don’t know why it’s so hard for me, because it ALWAYS ends up fantastic!

  • Renee:

I plan to empower my self with more “me” time as I am a full time care giver for my hubby who has Parkinson’s. I love my role as care giver, however I am feeling a bit “burnt” out at the moment, and could use a new t-shirt in my wardrobe (medium) to brighten my day!!

  • I checked out the website and I just love their stuff! I have lots of stuff from a site called Live Life Solid that I really liked but they have since shut down their site. Thanks for showing me a new place to buy my inspirational clothing.

  • Jill:

I’m trying to empower myself right now by going back to school at the ripe old age of 40. I’m on a five year trek to my Masters in English Education by way of an undergrad degree first. My ex-husband always told me I couldn’t do it! Hah, guess what, I am! I love feeling empowered even though it comes with the price of zero sleep and mega tons of stress!
