A few days ago I was having one of my particularly bad days where all I want to do is bite the heads off gummi bears and feel sorry for myself. I was in a funk and decided that I needed to go run some errands and make something productive out of my day. I left the house and was wearing my  purple/magenta/fuchsia/ pink  who knows what color they are because yanno, everyone has an opinion on the color of my shoes.

Anyway, I was wearing what I like to call my Aubergine shoes.

I puffy purple heart these shoes. I saw them at Zappo’s late one night, and before I knew it they had hopped into a UPS truck and were on my doorstep. And of course, since I love them so, NIKE has stopped making them.

I get many compliments on these shoes, but a few days ago an older gentleman looked at them, and promptly said “You wear purple shoes. You, young lady, have personality and are indeed a unique individual.” Needless to say, I was tickled. It’s not every day I get called “young lady.” After he walked away, I thought about what he said, and I came to the conclusion that he was right. I am unique. My personality is pretty good. I have some amazing friends, a great job and just recently found out I’ll be on a panel at a blogging conference in NYC. I’ve withstood a mighty strong crap-storm in the last 13 months and somehow, I still manage to get out of bed everyday. In short, WOW I’M AWESOME !

And that made my day.
