Yah, that was really shitty.

Thankfully nobody dares ever tell Dawg that he needs to stop grieving for his son. Or, he doesn't mention that anyone does. I would smack the mouth off their face if I ever heard someone say it.

Hey sugar,

That sucks, and I wanted to hit that Tweeter. What a cornhole.

Gotta say, however, that Foo has a point: just getting partnered up doesn't take us out of the widow category, it just makes us a bit less lonely. But you wait till you get there, it is a better place, for sure.

HUGS to you.

I had not heard this song yet, so I found it on youtube. When he sings, "I don't want to feel better." I instantly remembered how I felt after my dad passed away 18 years ago. I remember wanting to hang on to my grief, not in some pathetic way, but simply because everyone has to grieve in their own way and their own timeframe. I hated watching a new year come because that would be a year when he was no longer alive.

Losing my dad was hard enough, I cannot and do not want to imagine your grief upon grief.

There will always be idiots out there that cannot fathom how pervasive losing someone is until they experience a significant loss in their lives. I admire your strength for facing each day, even though I'm sure you don't feel you have any strength left.

Grieve in your own way and in your own time. The only people who has the nerve to judge you will be those that have not yet experienced it.

((HUGS)) to Cozzie. With my hubby's recent cancer diagnosis(they just don't know what kind yet) I can relate somewhat better to how you feel since I could be facing the same widow status as you sooner rather then later. Prayers of comfort increased for you as the 20th approaches.

I actually happen to disagree with you on this. Just because a widow or widower has found new love or remarried, you move them into a new category? Really? That is sad and horrible at the same time. Sure, I fell back into being a "we", after finding love again, but the badge of courage I wear, the hell I've been through, the daily thoughts of my late husband, the crushed dreams...those don't ever go away. I still get it. I think I am so guarded that I continue to operate as a solo person because I don't want my world to come crashing down again. I know this is your blog and you are entitled to say and feel the way you do. I just wanted to offer the point of view from a widow that you have now recategorized as "not understanding" or being part of the club that sucks to belong to in the first place.

How cruel that Twit(ter) was.

Pay no mind to those small-minded nitwits, Kim.
That kind don't deserve even the smallest notice.

Honey, I'm so sorry. I have thought about you so many times since your dad died. You and your mom have to help each other through this.
I pray for you both every night.
Are there any grief counseling support groups in your area? It really might help you to meet other people going through the same thing to know that you aren't alone.
God Bless.
