Thanks and things….

First of all, I again want to thank all of you that read, comment, and inspire me here at this little space on the interwebz. This blog has been therapy for me in the last 10 months and I plan to keep using it as such, not only by writing about my feelings and goals, but for the occasional silly me-me ( ie: blog post ideas I copy from my friends!), pictures and whatever else I feel like throwing out.

Lots of people think that the date on the calendar means that the last year is totally gone. In both good and bad ways for me, that’s not true. I’m still grieving the death of Gregory, and now with the death of my Daddy a little over two weeks ago, it’s like a band-aid has been ripped off of my soul and I am going through a lot of the same things over again. It’s like all of the strides I made in the last 9 months were made while wearing a bungee cord. I feel like I’ve been double-dipped.

So I will still be writing about being a widow, and now a daughter who has lost her father, and all of the emotions and things that go with both, mixed in with a little of my dealings with the Dreaded Bureaucracy of Death.  Despite all of that, things aren’t all gloom and doom, so I will also be writing about the good things……my journey back to a healthier Kim – both mentally and physically, these crazy dogs of mine, friends, family and the amazingness that I hope 2010 turns out to be. And a big part of the good is all of you, my RL, Twitter, FB and Blog friends…. I look forward to getting to know you all better this year, many of you in person !

So let’s get this year off to a great start shall we ?

You sound so much more positive and I am glad to hear that….even if it is an undertone to your grief. You have some serious steel inside you, babe!

Right here behind you, sending only good vibes your way! You are so strong!

  • You have such a bright spirit, Kim. I’m encouraged and so inspired by your determination to make this a “NEW” year as you continue your grieving.
I am 6 months out from losing my father and it is an interesting journey.
Sending you wishes for peace, strength and lots of love.

  • Franna-TRL:

I’m right here with you, Kim.

And remember, if you ever need a place to just disappear for a few days — just come to East Texas. I even have a separate little apartment for you and the terrorists. :-)

  • Even with all this crazy shit going on in your life, you still manage to seem so positive. I’m proud of what you’ve done, are doing, and plan to do. You are taking control of your life and that is so powerful to me. Thank you for continuing to inspire even while wading through the shit.

  • Caroline:

Totally with you on this girlfriend!

  • I really have no idea how I just found your site. It was a fluke or something but OMG you are now my favorite blogger. Just to read how you are making your way through the deaths of your husband and father are amazing.

My mother died two years ago and then about a year later my father was diagnosed with a very rare bladder cancer so reading you be so honest about the hurt really has helped me today. THANK YOU
